About Dr. Cindy Petersen

Meet Dr. Cindy Petersen

For more than 35 years, Dr. Cindy Petersen has dedicated her career to expanding opportunity in public education and helping others recognize what is possible within themselves.

During her 20 years as Superintendent/CEO of Gateway Community Charters, she helped grow the organization from a single school to nine schools serving more than 5,000 students and employing 700 staff. She has also shared her experience as an adjunct professor at Brandman University, now UMass Global.

Today, Dr. Petersen brings the lessons of her career to her work as a consultant, mentor and co-author. She has contributed to two books exploring women, leadership and personal growth, with a third arriving this fall—extending her lifelong commitment to seeing, investing in and developing the potential in others.
